Local Area

The Willow Tree Centre is a multi purpose outdoor centre set in 15 acres of private grounds in an attractive rural setting, bordered by woodland and within easy access of London.

Woodland and Walks

We have a set of 12 maps and instructions for a simple orienteering course around the grounds. This does not require compasses. At each point on the map there is a coloured marker and an orienteering punch. The instructions contain ideas for other activities you can do with the maps. Willow Tree is a fantastic base for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, there are many woodland walks accessible via pedestrian gate towards Harefield and Ruislip.

Shopping and Amenities

Ruislip High Street is 5 minutes drive away where there is a Sainsbury Local and Boots pharmacy. There is an Aldi and bigger Tesco and Sainsbury supermarkets 10 minute drive away. There are also a number of chip shops in Ruislip and Harefield, which can be walked to cross country, and Ruislip Lido is also accessible from the Centre. Most supermarkets deliver to the site, as well as deliveroo.

Attractions and Transport Links

The nearest tube stations to Willow Tree are West Ruislip (Central Line) and Ruislip (Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines) which you can use to get into central London. You can walk there through public footpaths but would recommend dropping off young members and accompanying adults by car/minibus/coach. In addition the 331 bus also stops within walking distance of the Centre through a public footpath. Willow Tree is also well based for attractions such as the Harry Potter Studio Tour; bowling in Watford or Uxbridge; HOAC Watersports;  Bekonscot Model Village and Railway; Go Ape at Black Park Uxbridge; Legoland Windsor.
